There are currently two operational children's playgrounds open in the resort with plans for two more in the near future. Both the "Hill Top" and "Lake Victoria" playgrounds are fenced in. They both have swings, slides, play houses and other fun equipment to keep the little ones busy. The "Hill Top" playground also serves as a picnic area with tables under a nice shaded area over looking the lake.

Lake Victoria:
This 3.5 acre fresh water lake is the perfect summer retreat for the whole family. There are gazebos, white sandy beach, and a waterfall all fenced in where parents can sit and relax while the kids play in safety. There is also a roped off swim area for the older children with play-ground equipment and a water slide right at the water's edge on a white sand beach that is also fenced in. There are also pedal boats for rent and lots of fish waiting to be caught from just about anywhere along the grassy banks. The lake is also a great place for model boats. Summer families and winter "snowbirds" have all had wonderful times with their model sailboats , speed boats, and steam boats in the protected waters of Lake Victoria.

Shady Circle:
If you like to rest in the shade this is a great place to do it at. This raised circle is covered with ivy and shaded by two large live oak trees. It is located between the Keep and the Promenade with benches all around and a great view of the trains as they curve around the gardens by the resort entrance. The circle marks the start of the nature walk that passes in front of the nearby playground on the way to the lake in one direction or the promenade that leads to the main station in the other.

|
Nature Trail:
For the walkers & strollers the resort offers a one mile nature walk that crosses several dams, passes a waterfall, skirts a ten acre wet-land, follows a creek, and passes a very large cow pasture. There are interesting buildings to see along the way along with views of the lake and timber lands. With flat stretches and hills to climb this trail will give you a work out as you follow the train tracks through the out back. Take the pets with you but please remember to pick up after them! Pet mess stations are located along the trail and in the RV resort for your convenience.

Foot Bridge:
The foot bridge that connects the upper parts of the resort and public parking area is totally handy-cap approved. It is 210 feet long and 15 feet tall at the point were it crosses over the railway and offers some great views of the resort. The bridge descends at the rate of 1 inch per foot as it circles around a large oak tree before ending at the foot of the promenade. Lit at night this is the fastest way to reach the buildings in the main part of the resort from phases 2,3, & 4.

Promenade:
Welcome to our old world. This unique road is 400 feet long, 30 feet wide, and built to resemble a Victorian promenade. It was built by laying over 5000 paving stones in a rainbow of colors all the way from the "Shady Circle" to the far side of the "main train station". With grass lawns, shrubs, picket fences, quaint street lights, gingerbread building, arched stairways, an authentic Victorian train station and railways on both sides we have recreated the look and feel of what was surely the good old days. Come here to spend some time with friends over a cream tea or to catch a real steam powered welsh narrow gauge train. As far as we know, there is no other place like this in the Americas so enjoy!

Main Train Station:
This wonderful structure is home to America's only authentic Welsh Victorian two foot gauge Light Railway. With a waiting room, tea room, gift shop, large rest rooms, and a large attached train shed you will swear that you have magically gone back in time to the wonders of Victorian England. From the ginger bread exterior to the arch ceilings, wall murals, train photos, antique exhibits, and "G" scale train that loops through the whole station you will feel the joy buildings like this invoke. Under the train shed you will find a wealth of authentic and reproduction steam and diesel locos, and rolling stock all in daily use on the mile long two foot gauge railway.

Miniature Trains Platform:
Directly across the Promenade from the station is the 7.5 inch railway. This miniature railway is the little sister to our main gauge and also has a wealth of locos and rolling stock. Children of all ages take great delight in a 1/2 mile ride on these amazingly powerful trains. You have to see this wonderful place in action to believe it so come camp with us and we will throw in a ride for free. This system is a volunteer effort that is always expanding. If you would like to get involved see how to join the club on the railway pages.

Garden Gauge Trains:
We even have trains in our garden and inside the main train station. This popular "G" gauge track is very popular with model train hobbyist. We encourage anyone with "G" gauge trains to bring them with them when they visit and run them on our tracks. This track system is all volunteer built so if you have an interest and would like to get involved we have a place for you.

Chapel Halt
Every railway needs a destination and this is ours. Located at the far side of the resort property the "Chapel Halt" complex is a 10 minute train ride from the main station. Comprised of a covered train platform, two story Children's activity building, fenced in playground, and entrance to the wooded wetland and future chapel board walks there is a lot to see and do here. The train platform is modeled after an English one that was used to load Lord Winston Churchill's casket onto his funeral train. The children's building is a 1800 square foot traditional Gambrel roofed structure perfectly suited to all types of field trips, parties, and special events. The fenced in playgrounds over look a cool brook and have a host of playground equipment and a picnic area. The Easter Bunny, Pumpkin Queen, Santa Claus and their helpers all make their homes here during "Special Events". This area is open now and in daily use but will be under development for several more years so please excuse our progress.
