BLUEGRASS
FESTIVAL
HELD ON THE 1ST.
WEEKEND OF MARCH EACH YEAR.
Our annual music festival comes from a heart felt desire to thank all the "snowbirds" that flock
to our area each winter. These great folks (Yankees) bring with them an economic
life line that that saves the day for many area businesses. We are grateful for
that so as true sons and daughters of the deep south we naturally wanted to
throw them a thank you party!
We rent out a big circus tent and put it up right in the
middle of the RV resort. Our own staff of ( work/campers) Yankee snowbirds then
put up their own concession tent in the corner by the entrance and serve up
reasonably priced snacks and lunches on Saturday and Sunday. With plenty of food
and shelter all we need is the music and we have plenty of that!/b>
All during the fall and winter months of the
year Wales West host a Tuesday night concert sires called "Bluegrass By The
Tracks". The bands that rotate through the series all come together for this
festival. Some bands are main stays that play for us every year and some are new
or have evolved into something different than they were. All of them are local
and very good at playing Bluegrass and Gospel music. This is a chance to see
them all play in a two day period before the series ends.
If your a Bluegrass lover come on over
because this is as good as it gets here in Baldwin County in the spring time. We
have taken great care to make this a fun filled event for our "snowbird" friends
and as well as all of our music loving locals. If you have never been here
before this is also a great way to check out one of the nations most unique
resorts with a half price train ride. Come rain or shine we have you covered.
All you need to do is bring a lawn chair and will take care of the rest.
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE GATE: $10.00 per person per day.
HALF PRICE TRAIN RIDES: $ 3.00 per round trip.
RV SITES:$ 34.00 +tax per night ( if available).
GATES OPEN: 10:00AM till dark BOTH DAYS.
Plenty of free parking, restrooms, and easy handy-cap access.
