If you have ever wanted to belong to an
organization dedicated to bringing JOY to people through trains we
have a place for you!
Over the last several years the rail
systems here at Wales West have grown faster than the normal staff can
handle. This phenomenal growth is do in a large part to all the great volunteer
labor that local train lovers have blessed us with. In order to give these
volunteers a sense of belonging to something they have worked so hard on and to
give the movement some real organization and direction a club has been formed.
Now train lovers from everywhere can join in the fun with donations of time
spent as a volunteer and much needed money in the form of dues.
The Wales West Railway Club has a
lot to offer anyone interested in trains. As a club member you can choose
which of our three rail systems you want to be involved in or mix them up if
that suites your fancy. If your interest lie in a track gauge that we do not yet
have we will help you get one started. The long term goal of the club is
to provide all of it's members with a track to run on that suites their
particular interest. If your more of a people person than a hands on train lover
we have lots of volunteer jobs working with people during all of our
special events. The events are at a reduced charge to club members and are a
great way to meet get involved, show off your equipment, save some money, and
have some quality time with the family. If you just want to see the
railways grow you can make donations as a Friend Of The Railways and
help greatly.

Our two foot gauge system
is a real working railway in daily use. Many hobbyist have
an interest in this large gauge but because of the cost and portability
of the equipment they will never get to work on one. On the other
hand this is one of the few two foot gauge railways in the country and
we love volunteers. If by chance you have two foot gauge equipment and
would like to see it run on our track we have a two foot gauge
stub track just for the loading and unloading of equipment. We also have covered
storage space available for visiting equipment.
If you do not have your own equipment it does not mater. Over the years
a lot of volunteers have learned to run our equipment and act as
Drivers, Brake Guards, Firemen, Platform Guards, and oilers. Club
members have also learned how to lay track, build equipment, work in the
gift shop and tea-room and a host of other related task. Come and
join us as we continue to improve America's only authentic Welsh narrow
gauge railway.

| Our 7.5 inch miniature railway
system is a dream come true for our local members. This all
volunteer built railway has opened up a whole new region for 7.5 inch
hobbyist. Hobbyist like this gauge because it is both portable and
affordable. Unfortunately it is still to big for most
hobbyist to have a track in their back yard. Our mile long ( and growing
) track is the answer to that problem for hobbyist in the south
east. We have a complete steaming facility with loading table, steaming
bays, and covered storage track. Located on the Gulf Coast of Alabama
between club tracks in Columbia Tennessee and central Florida the
track at Wales West is a convenient destination for hobbyist traveling
between those locations. With scheduled work weekends, and steam-ups in
the spring, fall, and winter that coincide with neighboring tracks
it is easy to fit play dates into your calendar. Wither your and old
hand or a greenhorn, loco owner or want-a -be feel free to join us and
become part of the continuing effort to improve this great little
miniature railway.
